Youth Hub Update #1

More Than a Building: The Vision Behind the Youth Hub

At Taunton Youth for Christ, we have a vision to create a safe, welcoming and homely space for young people in Taunton, particularly those who need extra support. More than just a youth club, the Youth Hub will be a place where young people can find a sense of family and belonging, build positive relationships and develop the practical life skills they need to move towards independent adulthood. Through activities and one-to-one support, young people will have opportunities to learn budgeting, cooking, managing a home, writing CVs, completing job applications and developing the skills and confidence needed to access employment. Above all, we want every young person to feel known, seen and valued.

At its heart, the Hub is about helping youth people discover their worth, realise their potential and build a brighter future.

‍

The Youth Hub is officially underway!

On 5th October, work began on the Youth Hub, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for Taunton Youth for Christ. After so much prayer, planning and fundraising, it is incredible to see the vision beginning to take shape!

Over the past two weeks, our builders, plumber and electricians have been busy getting the foundations and essential groundwork right, preparing the building for the next stages of development. We’ve also taken another exciting step forward by ordering our kitchen! This will be such an important part of the Hub. Who knows, we might even discover a few budding chefs along the way.

We want to bring you along on this journey with us! Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be sharing regular updates as the building progresses, celebrating milestones and giving you a glimpse of what is happening behind the scenes.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, given, encouraged us and helped make this vision possible. Your support is helping turn a dream into reality.
